Kindness Cookies
Description: In this activity, the ingredients for Toll House chocolate chip cookies have been renamed with characteristics of kindness. Flag Folding
Description: While learning how to properly fold the American Flag, students learn to treat the flag with respect and sincerity. One class learns how to fold the flag first, then these leaders demonstrate and introduce the topic to the rest of the school in an assembly. Afterwards, each homeroom class can follow the instructions on the take home challenge page to review how to fold the flag. This activity is a great chance for younger students to lead. At Evans, the third graders loved the opportunity to present to the school.

Ben Franklin Quotes Values Bingo
Description: In this game, students relate the values to Ben Franklin's quotes. Groups of students each have a bingo card with a value in each square. When a quote is projected, each group has to decide which value the quote represents. When we did this at The Evans School, the groups were made of a teacher and 1-2 students from each grade, and it was a chance for older and younger students to connect and play together. This would be a great opportunity for students studying the founding fathers to lead the activity and read off each quote as it comes up on the screen.
